Mahjong Farm, a timed tile-matching game, offers the player 30 levels of farm-themed fun. The player's primary goal is to remove patterns of stacked wooden tiles from a forest backdrop before time runs out by pairing identical tiles. With every pair, they can add more seconds to the timer. If they perform well, they receive three stars per level instead of traditional points or other winnings.
The tiles depict summer farm images that include buckets, cartons, corn, cows, foxes, pigs, sheep and strawberries. The player can only match the uncovered tiles. The game highlights usable tiles and leaves the rest slightly enshadowed in the background.
Mahjong Farm presents two unique concentration challenges. It moves the forest horizontally behind each stack of tiles. The player must attempt to focus on the tiles instead of the movement. Additionally, the game doesn't always highlight some uncovered side-by-side tiles. These tiles are actually considered layered and unavailable as well.
If the player has no additional moves left to make, they must reload the screen using the white arrow icon in the upper-left area. The game doesn't provide any other tools to make play easier, such as a hint magnifier, shuffle arrows icon or one or more boosters or powerups. It also increases the number of tiles in the last few levels.
