Pixel Cat Mahjong
Pixel Cat Mahjong is a timed, connect-style tile-matching game that features round-cornered tiles marked with different types of static and dynamic pixelated cat and other art designs similar to classic arcade games. The player's goals are to match pairs of these tiles and earn the highest score possible before time runs out on a yellow vertical timer bar to the right of the tiles.
Common tile icons include angel cats, bat cats, panda cats, pumpkin-headed cats, scuba-diving cats, skeleton soldier cats, ghouls, ghosts and human characters. On each level, the game presents the tiles spread out in columns and rows like a rectangular grid.
The player can only match tiles positioned side-by-side, stacked, along the same edge, or across a gap within no more than three connecting lines. Some players call the three connected lines a distance of no more than two 90-degree or right angles.
Pixel Cat Mahjong offers increasingly complex play with lighthearted music playing in the background. It also provides the player with at least an extra second of time on the timer when they complete a match. That said, the timer counts down quickly and makes it difficult for the player to win a level.
The player can use a shuffle button to reposition the tiles. They can also reload the tiles for any reason. With the second option, the game allows them to keep their previous points in the upper-left area. They merely remain stuck on the same level until they clear the playfield.
How To Play
Review the icons on the tiles. Select matching pairs of nearby tiles along the same edge first and then side-by-side and stacked ones inside the pattern. Match pairs across gaps. If necessary, shuffle or reload the tiles. To prevent an accidental score reset, never close the browser tab.
