Mah Jong

Mah Jong is a tile-matching game that offers a high degree of customized play. The player's goal is to remove layered tiles from a background and achieve the best possible time.

The game doesn't merely offer traditional Chinese Mahjong tilesets and other options. Instead, it gives the player a lot of different ways they can play. For starters, they make initial selections on the main screen. The game offers more than 50 pattern boards that can take the player to a puzzle immediately. If the player makes selections below this area, they can customize what appears when they choose a board or allow the game to randomly select a pattern.

In the Board Generator area, they can pick a puzzle that has at least one solve possibility (Solvable) or one that is possibly unsolvable (Random). In the lower-right area, they can choose one of three modes (Easy, Standard or Expert). The Easy and Standard modes allow the player to undo moves and use hints.

On the play screen, Mah Jong provides even greater customization via a green gear icon in the lower-right corner. The player can modify the language, background, theme, tileset art and tiles.

How To Play

Make custom main screen selections and then select one of the boards or the Start Random button. If desired, use the gear to make more custom selections. To remove all tiles, select identical pairs or tiles within the seasons and flowers categories that aren't covered by other tiles and have at least one side free. Use the lower-right area to track the total number of remaining tiles (i.e., stones) and the number of available free tiles, or review the timer. Use the upper-right area to undo moves and use hints, when available. Select the lower-left notepad icon at any time to see which non-Chinese icons fit the traditional Mahjong categories.
