Solitaire Windows Xp

Solitaire Windows XP is an online simulation of the original Windows XP version of Klondike Solitaire. On a green virtual tabletop in an XP window, the player rearranges face-up and face-down cards in seven columns to create four foundational ascending Ace-to-King piles by suit in the upper-right area.

As with the classic XP version, the player uses "Options..." on the bar above the tabletop in the upper-left area to generate a pop-up window to make custom selections. For example, they can choose an easy one-card draw or a harder three-card one. They can base their scoring on Standard or Vegas, or they can choose no scoring at all. They can even turn on a timer.

In the same area, they can use the "Deck..." option to change the card backs. The classic images include abstract line and pixelated artworks and pictures of an astronaut, cars, clouds, a fish, a frog, an island, and a sand dune.

Solitaire Windows XP requires the player to follow Klondike Solitaire rules. They must shift cards from the seven columns until they reach the Aces. They then transfer the Aces to the foundation spaces.

From that point, the player attempts to reorder the columns in descending King-to-Ace order by any suit. When they reveal the next ascending foundation card, they transfer it to the suit-marked space. If they can't find a card they need in the columns, they draw a card or cards from the pile in the upper-left corner.

How To Play

Select text and icons to make custom setting selections. Rearrange the cards to find the Aces and start the ascending order piles. Since this game doesn't have automatic flip or transfer settings, manually move the cards. If necessary, use draw-pile cards. After making a mistake, use Undo.

Controls

Mouse: Click text, icons and cards. To slide a card to another location, click and drag the mouse.
