Bubble Shooter HD is a high-definition bubble-popping game that features vibrant colored bubbles in rows against a playfield. The player attempts to achieve a high score by using bubble projectiles to pop as many of the hanging bubbles as possible before the rows slide to the bottom of the screen.
The player can customize the colors of the playfield backdrop and the game background by using the tab labeled with a three-line hamburger icon at the bottom-left corner. They can also use the settings to change the difficulty level.
Once the player has completed their selections, they use the aiming arrow on the shooter to direct the shot toward two or more adjacent bubbles that match the projectile in the shooter. When they shoot accurately, the game bursts the bubbles and any connected non-matching ones with bright flashes of light and assigns points to the area to the right of the shooter.
Bubble Shooter HD allows the player to make up to five mistakes before it issues a penalty. Every time the player fails to make a match that removes bubbles from the field, one of the silver bubbles below the shooter disappears. When no more silver ones remain, the game adds another row of bubbles to the field and resets the silver ones.
