Bubble Bubble is a bubble-popping game. In a magical world, the player explores 100 locations filled with different sizes and types of bubbles. In some regions, everything is pink, and bubbles cover the ground. At night, in another place, bubbles on stalks drift toward the sky. Throughout this exploration, the player helps a little girl remove bubbles hanging in different patterns on playfields. They use a cannon shooter that looks like a child's drawing marker.
The player must win a level to unlock the next one. Although the main playfield remains the same throughout the game, the backdrops and even times of day change.
In each level, the player receives a main projectile and a secondary one. They can swap these projectiles to shoot and pop clusters of bubbles faster. They also receive a light-colored, pixelated, dotted aiming line to make their shots more precise.
The game only allows the player to pop bubbles in clusters that contain two or more bubbles painted with the same color as the projectile. When the bubbles pop, they explode, and the game assigns points. Any non-matching ones attached to a cluster drop to the ground, bounce once, and pop.
Bubble Bubble features boosters attached to clusters that the player collects and uses at any time in a level. The boosters aren't cumulative from level to level. Common ones include a double-arrow energy booster that pops a horizontal row, a four-color booster that can pop any cluster based on color, and a lightning bolt booster that can pop bubbles in any spot.
