Om Nom Bounce! is a turn-based shooting game. The green, candy-chomping Om Nom needs the player's help! The Spider Wizard kidnapped all of his friends. The only way Om Nom can rescue them is if the player fights basic spiders and other evildoers with candy projectiles on chalk-outline grids on city streets across 40 levels.
The game's "bounce" aspect relates to pinball mechanics. After the player uses a dotted targeting line, they prompt Om Nom to shoot one or more red, striped candies directly at the fighters or off invisible walls to the sides and behind the waves. Additionally, the candies bounce off the enemies like balls hitting bumpers and other pins in a pinball machine.
Every direct hit reduces an enemy's health meter until the spider or monster expires and transforms into candies or other treats. The player can also direct Om Nom to use special abilities. For example, he can turn into a spinning round ball that rolls into and defeats enemies. Via the home screen, the player can also use saved donuts and candies, which serve as in-game currency, to purchase improved fighting abilities at the talent tree and boosters at the shop.
Om Nom Bounce! hides photos on different levels as well. Om Nom needs the player's help to collect these images for his scrapbook.
